About The Images

While wandering the beautiful Ethereal City Legacy sim, I happened to discover the trails up in the hills where the residents live. After shooting the image above, I really wanted to go back and shoot another one, this time of a woman flying down a hill on her bicycle with the reckless abandon of a child. It took a while to find just the right hill and the right angle, but I think it all worked out. If you haven’t visited Ethereal City yet, be sure to put it on your list!

Serena’s sweatshirt and bike shorts are by Tres Blah and are available at the November round of Collabor88. A variety of colors and patterns are available. I had been wanting to use these bicycle poses by FOCUS for quite a while – I think I bought the pack about a year or so ago – and I was delighted to find that my new sweatshirt matched the bicycle. The color coordination was not preplanned at all!

The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that there are two different dogs in the images. The dog in the image above is Rezz Room’s toy poodle, which I featured a few months ago in this post. The second dog is a Schnauzer, whose sweet little face I fell in love with while visiting the Rezz Room main store shortly after I shot the first image. It took me a few days to realize that the Schnauzer’s little face is very much like my own RL mutt’s face. Now I wonder if my RL dog might be part Schnauzer!

La Vie est Belle: Leaves, Latte, and Laughter

Awakening to the soft glow of late-autumn sunlight, Serena felt the crisp air through her open window signaling the changing season. Snow would be coming soon. An idea blossomed in her mind – today would be perfect for a bicycle ride through the rustling leaves and golden trails that adorned the outskirts of Ethereal City.

As preparations for the adventure began, Archie, her spirited Poodle, sensed the excitement in the air. His curly tan fur seemed to bounce with the same enthusiasm that mirrored the dancing leaves outside. The bond between Serena and Archie extended beyond words – a connection forged on countless trails and adventures.

The outskirts of Ethereal City had transformed into a tapestry of vibrant yellows, warm reds, burnt oranges, and deep browns. Serena mounted her bicycle, Archie at her side, and off they went, the rhythmic hum of the wheels harmonizing with the gentle rustling of leaves overhead.

The fragrance of fallen foliage was carried along a cool breeze as Serena pedaled, the wind tousling her hair and Archie’s fur. Together they navigated the winding paths, the world unveiling itself like a chapter from a colorful fairy tale.

They discovered an inviting hill, blanketed with a carpet of fallen leaves – a picturesque canvas just waiting to be disturbed. Serena grinned and winked at Archie. With the abandon of a child playing in an autumn wonderland, Serena closed her eyes and let gravity guide her down the hill. The leaves crunched beneath the bicycle’s wheels, and Serena’s laughter echoed through the crisp air. Archie, his tongue lolling and leaves swirling around him, mirrored Serena’s exuberance. The world around them became a whirlwind of autumnal colors as they briskly descended, the thrill of the downhill ride whisking their cares away.

As the day unfolded, Serena and Archie decided to explore more of Ethereal City. They pedaled through streets painted with the warm tones of fall, the cityscape alive with the energy of the season. Eventually, they found a charming café where Serena parked her bicycle and ordered a steaming cup of pumpkin spice latte. With the aromatic brew in hand, she and Archie strolled through the city, leaves swirling at their feet.

The urban landscape, too, had embraced the autumn spirit. Serena and Archie paused to watch the trains glide by, the rhythmic clatter adding to the symphony of sounds. Leaves floated through the air, caught in the breeze, creating a dance that matched the vibrant pulse of the city in fall.

“La vie est belle,” thought Serena, as they continued their leisurely walk. The diverse experiences of the day, in nature and amid the autumnal urban landscape, created a mosaic of memories. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the city, Serena and Archie headed home, their hearts full of the magic that only an autumn day of exploration could bring.

Returning home, Serena marveled at the simple joy that an autumn bicycle ride with Archie had brought. In a moment of reflection, she realized that adventure wasn’t confined to distant landscapes – it could be found in the rustling leaves and the sheer delight of riding down a hill with the abandon of a child.
